The epicentre of the earthquake hit 55 miles (88km) from the town of Baganga in Davao Oriental on the island of Mindanao, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.  The USGS said that earthquake that hit at 2.26pm local time (6.26pm GMT) was magnitude 4.7. A magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Peru early Sunday morning has claimed one life and caused 57 injuries, according to officials in the country. It has also knocked down adobe homes in small, rural towns and forced closure of some roads.
