Is THIS the reason why road rage incidents are becoming more likely in Britain?

Three in four drivers believe motoring manners have got worse in the past decade. The Ford survey of 2,000 motorists found that the top bugbears are throwing rubbish out of car windows, making loud hands-free calls, playing music too loudly, inconsiderate parking and grooming in the rear-view mirror, with aggressive cyclists and tailgating also figuring. The research, released for the launch of the Ford Fiesta Vignale, found that being in a hurry made a quarter of drivers forget their manners. Half said witnessing other drivers exhibiting poor behaviour is enough…

When the Ranger makes it return, it will be available in SuperCab and SuperCrew body styles with light styling revisions. To help toughen up…

Motorway warning: Ignoring THIS could soon land you with a fine and penalty points

The Home Office is currently testing new cameras to catch motorists who continue driving in a lane once a red warning X is displayed on the overhead gantry. Highways England said it expects the new enforcement regime to begin at the end of next March. The road-side cameras would automatically detect the lane violations and police officers would then determine the severity of the offence before deciding whether to send out a fine in the post.  Offences could be treated like passing through a red light, which carries a fixed…

Tailgating can land you £100 fine and three penalty points

New research from Confused.com has revealed that 79 per cent of motorists on the roads in the UK are unaware that tailgating carries a hefty fine.  Motorists caught tailgating can be penalised with a £100 fine and three penalty points on their licence.  It is not something that is as heavily policed as other driving offences such as speeding, with just over 2,000 motorists facing a fine in 2016.  One of the problems is that ‘smart’ motorways, which are becoming more popular in the UK, are not equipped to catch…

2018 BMW 5 series review – Roadshow

At the beginning of my week with the 2018 BMW 530e iPerformance, I questioned the point of this hybrid version of the 530i I’d reviewed earlier this year. The horsepower figures are identical and the combined fuel economy estimate, at 29 mpg, is just two mpg more than the non-hybrid. What’s the point? By the end of the week, the electrified 5er had made a believer out of me. The details that changed my mind are twofold. First, the charging port on the front fender opens up a whole new…
