Counting time, not calories can lead to weight loss

You are when you eat. A growing number of researchers say limiting the hours during the day when you eat, focusing more on the timing of meals instead of calories, can help dieters burn more fat, improve their health and lose weight. Lorna Shelton, 58, was not very lively this time last year. The Centralia, Washington native weighed nearly 250 pounds and had trouble walking. “I had to have both knees replaced, I was walking with a cane,” said Shelton. A traditional approach to losing weight, including substituting fast food…

Ice and snow turned travel treacherous across the South, shutting down interstates in Louisiana, causing highway crashes in Kentucky and closing airport runways in Texas as snow turned the red clay white and prompted schools to close across the region. Snow began falling during the pre-dawn hours Tuesday in Louisiana, where freeways were closed in and around Baton Rouge as the winter weather system took aim at other states, forecasters said. With the weather system moving east and plunging temperatures expected right behind it, winter storm warnings were issued for…

Virgin believes Elon Musk’s Hyperloop system could be the answer to London’s airport runway expansion problems. Sir Richard Branson’s firm believes Hyperloop pods, which can travel up to 670mph, would effectively turn the capital’s three airports into one “hub”. It’s estimated passengers would only need five minutes to travel in a Hyperloop between Gatwick and Heathrow, and seven to Stansted.  Sir Richard has previously described the Hyperloop as the “world’s most revolutionary train service”. He has also invested £65million in Hyperloop One, a California start-up he chairs, which has built…

The Surprising Story Behind This Shocking Photo of Martin Luther King Jr. Under Attack

The Surprising Story Behind This Shocking Photo of Martin Luther King Jr. Under Attack More Though such was not the case during his lifetime, it’s uncontroversial today to note that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American hero of the civil rights movement, a hero whose birth will be celebrated by Americans on Monday, Jan. 15, with the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. More than perhaps any other American, King has come to represent peace — which is just one reason why this image of him brought…
