BREAKING: Mysterious ‘shaking BOOM’ felt across Oklahoma blamed on huge EXPLODING meteor

There have been no earthquake reports from the USGS.

But based on visual reports of meteor streaks in Oklahoma and Texas it is possible the region experience a ‘bolide’ or the breaking up of a meteor, according to the National Weather Service.

People in Cleveland, Grady, Garvin, Noble, Murray and McClain counties have all reported the boom.

There are reports of people seeing a green streak shoot across the sky.

One Twitter user said: “Meteor flew over Oklahoma City today at about 16:20, with a sonic boom and some shaking in nearby Norman!

“Was beautiful green and orange streak in the daylight.”

The North Texas Severe Weather tweeted: “Hearing reports of a large meteorite exploding over Central/Southern Oklahoma today around 4:30 PM; producing a large green flash in the sky and a loud sonic boom which could be heard south into Texoma and portions of North Texas.”
